Clomiphene, sold under the brand name Clomid among others, is a medication used to treat infertility in women.
It works by stimulating ovulation, the release of an egg from the ovary. Clomiphene is taken by mouth, usually for 5 days during the menstrual cycle. The medication was first approved for use in the United States in 1967.
