Morning sickness, also known as nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (NVP), is a common condition that affects up to 80% of pregnant women. It typically begins around the 6th week of pregnancy and peaks between the 8th and 12th weeks. While the exact cause of morning sickness is unknown, it is thought to be related to the hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy.
Although morning sickness is often a temporary and minor inconvenience, it can be debilitating for some women. In severe cases, it can lead to dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, and weight loss. There are a number of things that can be done to combat morning sickness, including:
